Garden Rocket

Did you know another name for arugula is garden rocket?  Makes that leafy substance sound so much more badass.

Spring is around the corner and garden rockets are blasting back out into season.  My mom always told me to eat my vegetables, but I think I’ll drink ’em instead.  Also, what better way to toast to this coming season than to incorporate the green bastards into a cocktail?

Earthy, peppery, yummy, deliciousness that is definitely meant to be enjoyed outside on a patio or at a picnic, but I’ll leave that up to you.

Garden Rocket

2oz Rye Whiskey

1oz Green Chartreuse

.5oz Lemon Juice

.5oz Simple Syrup

3 Baby Arugula Leaves

Garnish: Dash of Fresh Ground Pepper, and a Couple Baby Arugula Leaves

Method:  In a rocks glass drop in arugula leaves with simple syrup and muddle the arugula.  Combine remaining ingredients over ice and stir.  Garnish with a dash of fresh ground pepper and the one arugula leaf.
